My Jungbub Journal – Eighty Third & Fourth Day of Dong-ahn-guh (winter meditation retreat)
Meeting with my clients
———–
I met clients to give an education about how to use their website. Recently I redesigned a website of a charter school.
The Principal, School Operations Supervisor, and Administrative Assistant attended the meeting.
I was so nervous before education. While working at the previous organization, I hosted lots of workshops and training. I taught about Korean philosophy, spirituality, and meditation. And, the participants knew that I’m Korean and understood my English.
Yet, this meeting is about how to use their website, and I represent my company. So many things can go wrong during education. So, I prepared it for a whole day.
Last year, I wrote a blog post to explain to my client how to use their website. I re-wrote and updated the old blog. And, made a list of topics that I need to teach them on Google Doc. Rehearsal the flow a few times before education.
Education went well. It took about 2.5 hours. Actually, I enjoyed it a lot. It was fun to meet people. Especially, they are taking important roles in this community so the meeting empowered me.
This is a real reward for my job: meeting people who I would never meet unless I run this business. Money is an additional reward.
By meeting people, I learn about people, organizations and society. I will treat them as my friends and family (ʻOhana) and support them to contribute to the community.
If weʻre doing our job well, then more people will look for our help.
