Dong-ahn-guh Day 18 – Setting Intention for Everything

My Jungbub Journal – Eighteenth Day of Dong-ahn-guh (winter meditation retreat)

Setting Intention for Everything

—————

It’s Sunday. I could take a good rest today rather than any other weekends.
It’s because I set my intention to rest and to care my body and spirit. It’s powerful. I didn’t just let the time pass. As I set my intention, my time and energy followed the direction. If somebody saw me today, he/she would not recognize any differences. But, I felt very different internally. My breathing was different, my reactions to the environment were different.

The rest charged my energy and passion for the next week.

My Reading Intention

—————

I also enjoyed reading books today. Yet, I realized that I needed to set “my reading intention” for each book.

When I choose books to read, I choose them because I need more knowledge about those areas. Or wanted to experience others’ lives indirectly.

But, I felt that necessity or curiosity cannot provide enough motivation. I needed to find the reasons why I read this book. So, to provide “whys”, I made my reading intention for each book today.

I made a table with 5 rows:

  • Cover Image:
  • Title:
  • Author:
  • The month when I read the book:
  • My Reading Intention:

The intention helps me to visualize how I can improve myself and how I can make the life better as I read this book. It makes me more motivated and absorb the knowledge that I needed much better.

Time and energy are given to all of us when we’re born on earth. How do we use them? With our intention. When we set the intention, our life (time and energy) follows the direction and guides us to our destiny.
