Dong-ahn-guh Day 17 – Our Story

Our story

—————

My wife and I have watched a cooking show on Netflix. It’s the Final Table. We really enjoyed it.

We enjoyed watching the charisma and confidence of the world-renowned chefs. What made me more interested was that they had stories for their dishes. They are not just good at cooking. They are philosophers and imbue their life stories into food. It’s fascinating.

Today I thought about our story. The story that my wife and I are creating together. That’s what defines us and our relationship. Our relationship is not just romance or pounding in our heart. They are secondary. Primary is our story. Whenever I think about our story, I feel moved. Then, feelings of gratitude and love follow. We’ve already created a precious story and we’re talking about a story for our future all the time.

We invited Mary’s parent for dinner. I cooked Galbi (Korean prime short rib). I boil the beef ribs with soybean paste (dweon jang or miso) for 30 seconds and marinated beef ribs with ground onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and pineapple. We imbued our story into the food. At the end, we could see how much they enjoyed the dinner from their faces. We had an amazing time together.

I ordered Amazon All-new Kindle Paperwhite. Suddenly, I felt like I earned it today, so I bought it for myself just now 🙂
